Stephen for Model Number RF260BEAESR/AA 02 icemaker would not turn and drop ice. water overflowed into bin. pressed reset, nothing happened. replaced ice maker assembly. made ice fr about a week then quit. reset pbutton will no longer cause a cycle. freezer is very cold -14F. what do you suggest. maybe the fill tube heater is bad or fill tube blocked by ice? water never enters icemaker now. concerned that board maybe bad due to the very cold temp seen in the freezer?
Answer Hello Stephen, thank you for contacting AppliancePartsPros.com This may be an issue with the thermistor DA32-00029U in the freezer. If that thermistor is reading the freezer as too warm it will over cool that section, if the freezer is too cold the ice maker will not attempt to make ice. You can test that thermistor by removing it, placing it in a glass of ice water, allowing it to sit for 5 minutes, and then check the resistance value, it should be around 13.29k ohms at 32F and about 5.62k ohms at 70F. If the thermistor seems to be reading in range then you might have an issue with the main control board DA92-00384E. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, June 13, 2025
