Cheryl We own a Samsung model WF419AAW/XAA 03. How can you tell if the balance ring is bad? When I spin the tub it sounds like something is rolling around inside. So we took the machine apart, replaced the spider assembly because it was broken and corroded, replaced the bolts, and seal to the outer tub. The balance ring appeared fine to the eye, so we put it back in. When it was reassembled part way, I gave the tub a spin and got the sound of something rolling in the tub. Should it do that? How can u tell if the ring is bad? Thanks
Answer Hello Cheryl, The tub ring has ball bearings inside it to aid in finding a balanced configuration for the high-speed spin. It should also contain a small amount of fluid to dampen the movement of the ball bearings. If they sound dry, the balance ring will require replacement. Read More...
