John G. March 18, 2024 for Model Number WF203ANW/XAC Hi, We are experiencing loud banging noise when our Samsung washer gets spinning with a load of cloths, especially at high speed. There is no particular wiggling sign of the basket itself. We have tried some spin cycles empty, so without a load : none of those noise happens… Do you have a clue ? Thank you.
1 Answer John, Check the suspension to make sure that it is good. If it is then the spider may be broken. Read More...
Judge December 15, 2023 for Model Number WF42H5000AW/A2 my washer is shaking going to high speed in spin mode and settle out to smooth stocks has change and spider is fine no play in the drum but my balance ring is 1/2 to 3/4 full of liquid it doesn't seem to have cracks, it looks seal please advise thank you
1 Answer Judge, while there can be some vibration that occurs when the spin basket ramps up to speed, it would be recommended that the washer level is checked. The next step would be inspecting the counterbalance weights DC67-00749A for any loose bolts or indications of being damaged. Read More...
Kip L March 28, 2023 for Model Number WF42H5200AF/A2 Hi, this is an older model that I bought used...it needed repair. The machine has worked fine but lately it seems to be having more trouble balancing the load during the spin cycle. Sometimes it succeeds and proceeds to a high speed spin. Other times it just gives up leaving wet clothes. Except for very small amount of surface corrosion, the spider arm looks sound. There is no basket wobble nor bearing noise. I've checked the level of the machine and replaced all 4 shocks. It seems the only thing left would be the balancing ring. I removed it and tried to test it. I can hear metal balls moving if I hold it in different positions, but they seem to move VERY slowly. There are no discernable leaks in the ring. Given the age of this machine, could the viscosity of the liquid inside the ring have changed? I can't say with 100% certainty but it seems when I first got the machine running, I could hear the balls inside the ring more distinctly; now I barely hear them. I can't help but wonder if the fluid inside the ring has somehow become too thick (due to age, temp changes, etc.) so the ring is not longer working as it should. Does that sound possible?
1 Answer Kip L, If the balance ring has become damaged and lost the fluid it has in it then it would need to be replaced. From the description of the issue, it sounds possible that the balance ring has lost the fluid, or it could be an issue with the load. the load should be not too small and not too large and should be of like items...(shirts with shirts - Jeans with jeans - towels with towels) check the user manual for more loading instructions. Kathy March 04, 2023 for Model Number WF419AAW/XAA 03 How do you tell if the Balance Ring on this model is damaged or bad? What are the tell tell signs.
1 Answer Kathy, Thanks for asking!!! The ring would have to be damaged. Balance rings are filled with liquid, beads, etc. The material inside would have to escape for the ring to not do its job. Read More...

Joshua November 11, 2022 for Model Number Wa45n3050aw/a4 Hello I’m trying to fix my washer as it shakes uncontrollably when starting the spin cycle I have replace the rods and tighten the nut under the agitator! It doesn’t matter how much wash is in there it will start banging 95 % of the time there’s a 5 % chance it makes it to the high speed spin and while it’s doing that it shakes a lot and when it slows down it starts violently shaking what could be the problem? Ty
1 Answer Joshua, the drive belt DC66-10170B would need to be inspected for any flat spots that could cause the belt to slip and catch. If the belt is good, the next step would be inspecting the basket for any damage to the support under it as well as checking the drive shaft of the clutch assembly DC97-16984B for any wiggle movement. If these things check ok, the failure would likely be in the balance ring of the basket assembly DC97-16990H. Read More...
Michael October 24, 2022 for Model Number WF45N5300AW/US-00 The fluid in the balancing ring (SAM-DC97-12135A) does not seem to move freely, as if the fluid is of a very high viscosity. The washer shakes violently in the spin cycle. I have disassembled the unit and there is a lot of build up around the back of the spin drum. Do you think both or either of these would cause the violent shaking during spin cycle? Thank you
1 Answer Michael, It would be more likely that the spider at the back of the drum possibly being damaged would cause this issue. Read More...
Anthony June 03, 2022 for Model Number WF42H5600AW/A2 I put a new spider arm and new shock absorbers and new springs and my washer keeps going out of balance and it keeps hitting the outer walls of the washer. What could this be? Is it the centering ring because the counterweights are intact. Please let me know because I hardly don't hear any liquid on my centering ring.
1 Answer Anthony, Thanks for the question!!! Go back and start with the basics. Make sure the machine is properly leveled and that all the leveling legs are locked properly. Also, determine if the location is suitable. Maybe if used the pedestal has an issue or the floor has too much give. There are many variables in this equation. If you hear liquid at all in the ring then it is likely ok. Hope this helps get to the cause of the issue, good luck, and happy repairs!!! Read More...
