Stephen for Model Number DV410AEW/XAA My dryer has burned through the wire that connects one of the heating element terminals to the thermostat, on the heating element side. It seems like it might be because the connection between that wire and the heating element is not good and that keeps creating the heat that keeps burning the wire (this has happened twice). 1. Should I replace the whole heating element for this issue? Or just the wire and wire terminals? 2. Do you know which wire terminal and wire size I need? Whether I replace the heating element or not, I will still need to replace that burned-out wire. Thanks!
Answer Stephen, the element DC97-14486A would need to be inspected for damage. However, it is correct that the wire involved would need to be replaced. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not indicate what gauge wire is used with the harness assembly DC93-00067B, although element wire terminals are 1/4 inch hi-temperature terminals TJMA02875-1.
