Terry for Model Number RS267LBSH/XAA-0000 My water dispenser on the front door does not work anymore. I can hear the click of the switch when depressing the lever with a cup. I replaced the water filter and found that the water pressure was still decent when removing the filter. I suspect a switch is not working or the water inlet valve is not responding to the switch. I saw the replacement part for the water inlet valve but did not see the replacement switch to activate the inlet valve. Are there any other things to check that would affect the lack of water being dispensed? Thank you
Answer Terry, the valve DA62-00914B can be tested for 120VAC when the water dispenser is activated. If there is voltage, the next step would be removing the 5/16" tubing and aiming the port into a cup. When the water dispenser is activated again, if water does not come through the valve then the valve has failed. If water does come through, the tubing would need to be placed back into the valve and the water connection at the door hinge would need to be disconnected. With the tubing from the cabin aimed into a cup, the dispenser would need to be activated again. If water comes through, the tubing in the door has frozen and the door would need to be warmed up with a towel (door may possibly need to be replaced if issue occurs again). If water does not come through, the water reservoir DA97-02650D would need to be inspected for indications of being frozen and thawed out if necessary and the tank heater DA47-00228B would likely be the cause of failure. If the tank is not frozen up, the filter housing DA97-06317A would need to be replaced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, March 17, 2023
