Darrick for Model Number WF218ANB/XAA 01, Stator- - DC31–00076A When I try to enter spin cycle, I hear electrical moaning like the motor is trying to engage but the drum does not even move at all. The door mechanism appears to lock. There is no electrical burn or other issue that I can see. I removed the stator and got 12.3 ohms between all three terminals, is this correct or do I need new stator motor?
Answer Hi Darrick, thanks for your question. Since the stator windings tested good, it’s not likely that the stator or rotor are the problem. The next step is to spin the basket by hand and see if it turns freely. If it doesn’t spin freely and the gap between the basket and outer tub looks even all the way around, then the rear tub bearings DC97-15328F have failed. If the spacing looks uneven anywhere between the basket and tub, then the spider shaft DC97-14875B would need to be replaced. Read More...
