Darrick September 29, 2025 for Model Number WF218ANB/XAA 01, Stator- - DC31–00076A When I try to enter spin cycle, I hear electrical moaning like the motor is trying to engage but the drum does not even move at all. The door mechanism appears to lock. There is no electrical burn or other issue that I can see. I removed the stator and got 12.3 ohms between all three terminals, is this correct or do I need new stator motor?
1 Answer Hi Darrick, thanks for your question. Since the stator windings tested good, it’s not likely that the stator or rotor are the problem. The next step is to spin the basket by hand and see if it turns freely. If it doesn’t spin freely and the gap between the basket and outer tub looks even all the way around, then the rear tub bearings DC97-15328F have failed. If the spacing looks uneven anywhere between the basket and tub, then the spider shaft DC97-14875B would need to be replaced. Read More...
Mark June 19, 2025 for Model Number WA5451ANW/XAA-0002 After washing a large pillow in the washer, I began to get a behavior whereby the washer restarts early in the spin cycle and eventually gives a “dc” (unbalanced load) error. Both the drain and spin operations function normally in Quick Test Mode and Demo Mode. I have leveled the unit, replaced the Washer Damper Assembly DC97-05280S, and replaced the Washer Vibration Sensor Assembly DC93-00278B, but the issue remains. An example is that when running a “Rinse+Spin” cycle, with about 9 minutes left, the spin cycle begins and after 10-30 seconds of slow spinning, the unit changes to 17 minutes left and starts refilling the tub with water. My understanding is that it is doing this in an attempt to balance the load, however this seems unnecessary based on observation of the load. What would be next to try? I’m curious if I should replaced the rotor position sensor, although the RPM readings during the test modes appears accurate.
1 Answer Mark, Thank you for your question. If the unit is operating properly in the quick cycle and other cycles but doing this only in one cycle then it will most likely be a faulty control board. Read More...
Ron June 02, 2024 for Model Number samsung wf45m5100aw/af My samsung washer finished its cycle this morning when we opened the door there was a bit of smoke and a plastic burnt smell.I was told it could be the stator so i pulled it and tested it and it shows 12 ohms on the ohm meter.I dont smell anything burnt on it and it looks like new.Someone else mentioned maybe the pump not sure what i should test next any help would be appreciated
1 Answer Ron, It would be recommended to check to make sure that the drum is not rubbing against the outer tub which would cause the plastic smell. Read More...
Bill April 30, 2024 Samsung WA45H7200AW/A2, MY washer has issue that when you start to use it, the motor is not spinning, but after you put on rinse and spin, it can start to spin and come back to normal completely for whole day, but next day, will get same problem again. I am sure it is not the issue of motor. Could you point out where is the issue?
1 Answer Bill, based on the information provided, the main control DC92-01625B would be the most likely cause of failure. Read More...
Eli January 23, 2024 for Model Number WF328AAW/XAA model:WF328AAW/XAA samsung washer seems like its trying to agitate but the magnets are effecting adversely or sumshit. replaced the spider that's what got me into this mess, worked fine before. spider cracked so changed it out. reading on position sensor is 11.4 ohms. looks to be ok. maybe wire connection is loose, don't know how i could make it more tight. what would be the process of elimination be.?
1 Answer Eli, Start with placing the machine into service mode: to enter press Signal & Extra Rinse simultaneously with the power on. Then run the Quick Spin Test: to enter this press; Delay Start & Silver Care. This accelerates the drum motor from 0 to maximum RPM over a few minutes. Note: Stay with the washer during this test, the out-of-balance detection is bypassed and the door may not lock. Press the Start/Pause button during the test to hold its spinning speed. Read More...
Eli January 23, 2024 for Model Number WF328AAW/XAA hello, i took my samsung front washer apart and replaced the spider with drive gear and pump. Had no problem with anything else. I put it back and it pumps and tries to spin then displays E3 error. I pulled the stator off with the sensor position which is attached. I'm reading 11.4 ohms touching any of the 2 terminals. From the answers i read, one said 11.5 ohms, another said 6 and another site said 9.2 ohms. Anyways, what else can i do to keep the process of elimination going. model:WF328AAW/XAA

George November 17, 2023 for Model Number WF45K6500AV/A2 How do you test to see if the rotor position sensor is good. I’m reading 12.6 ohms on the stator between lines so I believe the stator is good. Thanks in advance for any info
1 Answer George, the rotor position sensor DC31-00098A would be tested from the inverter DC92-01531C connection CN6. After pressing the power button (do not start a cycle), there should be 5VDC from pin 1 to pin 4. If not, the inverter has failed. If there is, the next step would be testing from pin 4 to pin 2, and pin 4 to pin 3 while rotating the rotor by hand. There should be a voltage reading around 3.5VDC at each test. If not, the position sensor has failed. If there is voltage at both points, the inverter has failed. Read More...
Mike November 01, 2023 for Model Number wf405atpawr/a2 My washer starts the cycle, locks the door, starts filling water for a moment , then the drum tries to turn but instead it just twitches and stops. Then it tries to start turning again but it just twitches and stops. This repeats may be 10 times and then it stops. There is no error code at all. The drum can be spun freely manually. No mechanical binding. I tried to follow the instructions how to test/measure the Hall sensor but I am not sure how. Is the Hall Sensor defective or is it the main control/inverter board?
1 Answer Mike, You may have to put the washer into service mode to retrieve the error code. It sounds like it is trying to sense the weight of the load to know how much water it needs. Probably a pressure switch fault. Read More...
Amalia May 26, 2023 for Model Number WDM80M4B53IW Hi there! the drum of my washing machine appears to be stuck. It won't spin or rotate even when turned off when I do it manually to any of the sides. Could this also be the case of a broken rotor position sensor? Many thanks in advance
1 Answer No, a rotor position sensor would not stop you from turning it by hand. Sounds like a stuck bearing on this style of machine. Read More...
Steve May 19, 2023 for Model Number MVWB725BW0 Hello, my washer MVWB725BW0, stops in the middle of wash cycle and showing SD (sud) error code. I did not use use detergent and pump/hoses are not clogged. There is nothing between the tubs, If I power off and start a cycle (drain/spin), it spins very well. What do I need to do? Secondly, may I ask why there are two pumps (circulation and drain pumps)? What does circulation pump do? Thanks
1 Answer Steve, Lets start with the second question first, the circulation pump will be used to disperse the water over the clothes during the agitation cycle. As for the Suds issue. There could be excess build-up of detergent in the machine that could cause this and may need to run a clean cycle with nothing in it. It could also be that the unit did not drain properly which could be a clogged drain pump or faulty pump if it is not pumping at all. Read More...
