Diane for Model Number Samsung microwave SMH1622B Two numbers do not work on my microwave keypad 0 and 6 Is it a difficult fix to replace the keypad?
Answer Hello Diane, This is not a difficult repair. You should first unplug the microwave. Then look at the top edge of the microwave for two screws that thread straight down toward the floor. Removing these two screws will make it possible to remove the air grill with the door open. This will expose the single screw above the control panel. Removing this screw will enable you to slide the control panel up. Pulling out on it will allow it to tilt out for access to the inside of the unit. At this time it is recommended to take multiple pictures from different directions so you will know what wires go where during the reassembly process. Remove the wires and unhook the panel from the clip that holds it to the unit and you can replace the keypad on the countertop. Reassembly is simply the reverse of this process. Read More...
