Lenny S for Model Number RSG309AARS/XAA-0002 My ice cream and frozen breads are soft, is this caused by a bad freezer temp sensor? The fridge works fine.
Answer Lenny, You will want to check to make sure that the condenser fan is running and make sure that the condenser coils are clean. If the fan stops or the coils are dirty it could cause an elevated temperature in the freezer compartment causing the ice cream to be soft. If the fan is running and the coils are clean then check to make sure that the setting on the freezer for this unit is set for -2 degrees. If it is then test the thermistor to make sure that it is good. at -2 degrees, test at the control board for a resistance of about 30K ohms of resistance. The connector you will test on the control board will be the CN30 connector and will test from the ground Pin 4 to Pin 5 which is the freezer sensor. You will want to disconnect the connector from the unit when testing. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, May 31, 2018
