Guy P. for Model Number AWS44NW Stink from washer smelled like motor. Changed motor and belt. Old belt was warn and cracked. Worked fine untill it went into drain wash water and then it smelled again. Looked at belt and it was cracked again. Wife says it happened in same spot. Now looking at the pump but there is no way to clean it. Pump does turn but seems tight when turning. Any help would be appreciated..
Answer Hello Guy, The pump 205217P could be the issue but you should look up at the bottom of the outer tub for water trails indicating a failed outer tub seal. If there are water trails you will need to replace the outer tub seal, spin bearing, 766P3A and the belt 38174 again. By the way, if the helix 38008 jumps the cogs on the center pulley 204486, the transmission 38165P or 12002177 has failed and will require replacement. Read More...
