Ricardo for Model Number MCD2257THES

Before I disconnected my water line to the fridge to relocate it to my other place every thing was working. The ice dispenser, water dispenser were all working. After probably year of being disconnected I reconnected the water line to the refrigerator, but then no water is going to ice dispenser and no water to the ice dispenser. I replace new water filter thinking it will solve the problem, but it did not. I know there is water going to the fridge because when I replaced the water filter, the water filled the water filter (there was water pressure), but no water is going to the ice maker and no water coming out in the water dispenser. What could be the problem? Please help me.

Answer

Hello Ricardo. The first thing you will want to check is the water tank assembly R0131625. Check and see if it is frozen. If so, that is the problem. If it is good, you will need to test and see if there is power going to the water valve WP67005154, when the dispenser is pressed and the icemaker cycles. If there is power there and the dispenser and the icemaker does not work, you will need to replace the water valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
