Merle M. I have a Kenmore dishwasher that was not working. I checked things out and the touchpad was no good. I replaced it and it started working, and then it stopped again I checked it out again, the thermal fuse was blown. I replaced the fuse and it blew again. What can be causing this problem ?
Answer Merle, Basically, you'll need to remove the lower kick plate and panel, remove the junction box cover and check the electrical wire connections. Make sure they are tight, not damaged or melted, and sealed or facing a direction where water can't enter the connections. Then check the hi limit thermostat and heater element and wires. The thermostat should have a "closed" circuit, and the heater resistance should be 10 to 30 ohms resistance if it is in tact. Those are the more common issues for the thermal fuse to "blow". If you need more assistance, please include the model number of your dishwasher. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, December 3, 2014
