Carrie for Model Number WFW72HEDW0 My Whirlpool Duet front load washer threw a E1/F9 code, so I cleaned out the filter basket in the pump and ran a drain/spin cycle. The washer then threw a SUD code. I unplugged it, pulled the filter out of the pump and drained the water out of the basket. I got the door to open and took out my clothes. Then I ran a quick wash cycle with an empty basket and no soap. During that cycle, I got a E1/F9 code again. The pump sounds like it is humming, but it is not draining anything. What is the next step? New pump or checking the hoses or is there something else that could be causing this problem? Thanks!
Answer Carrie, it would be recommended that the drain hose is inspected for any clogs. If there are no clogs, the next step would be to plug the unit in, place it into a spin and drain cycle. If there is 120VAC when testing the main control connection J17 pin 4 to ground, then the drain pump WPW10605427 has failed and would need to be replaced. Read More...
