Nick for Model Number RBS305PDQ16 My whirlpool electric oven control board was off. I checked the thermal fuse, bake element, broil element and they are ok. I used the digital multimeter to check temperature sensor and it is 850. The normal is 1000 to 1100. I am not sure if this is the problem. I do not know how to check the control board. Can you tell me? Thanks
Answer Hello Nick. if the sensor is reading 850 at room temp, it is bad. However, it does not make the board turn off. It sounds like the control board and the sensor will need to be replaced on the unit. You can test L1 on the board and see if there is 120 volts AC there. If so, board is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
