Charles for Model Number MHWE450WW01 [ Maytag front load ] Making loud noise in spin cycle. Repair man said bearing is bad and told me it would cost to much to repair the machine is only two years old I payed $800.00 for this machine and took out extended warranty. They said they would call me within 3 days and offer me a check to replace the washer. Do you have any idea how much they should offer me and can the bearings on this model be replaced? I am a mechanic by trade and think I can replace the bearings. What parts will I need and do I need any special tools to do this job? Is there a video on how to do this and how can I view it? Please send e-mail to bubbacae1@verizon.net Thank You
Answer Hello Charles, You would need to order part number W10772619. This is the rear half of the outer tub and it contains the tub bearings and seal. You will need to inspect the spin basket support shaft WPW10283352 for any wear from the bad bearings. If it is worn, it will need to be replaced to prevent damage to the new bearings and seal. There are no specialty tools involved short of a second man to assist in the removal and reinstallation of the tub assembly to prevent damage to the other components. We have no way to estimate the value of the appliance. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, February 3, 2014
