Elizabeth April 15, 2024 for Model Number MAH4000AWW Hello, My washing machine is extremely noisy during the spin cycle. I am looking to replace the bearings, but the front bearing is no longer available and is not part of the lip seal kit. Can i use the rear bearing in the front or is there a compatible part to replace the discontinued one?
1 Answer Elizabeth, Unfortunately the only way to repair this would be to replace the rear outer drum. Read More...

1 Answer Barbara, if the seal was leaking or the spin basket was bouncing around, it would be recommended that the front WP22002934 and rear WP22003441 bearings are replaced as they could be damaged. Read More...

Ben March 10, 2014 for Model Number MAYTAG Neptune MAH5500AWW Thank you Mat for great C/S. I just popped out the rear bearing...outward. The front/inside bearing..after removing the plastic C-clip is refusing to budge. I'm hitting it from the rear...inward, is that right? How about the rubber seal kit over the bearing should it pop out together with the bearing? Do you carry it? Big TKS.
1 Answer Ben, In order to remove the bearing, the seal will need to be removed first. If you tap the bearing with a punch and work all the way around it, the bearing should come out. The part number for the lip seal kit is 12002022. Read More...

Charles January 21, 2014 for Model Number MHWE450WW01 [ Maytag front load ] Making loud noise in spin cycle. Repair man said bearing is bad and told me it would cost to much to repair the machine is only two years old I payed $800.00 for this machine and took out extended warranty. They said they would call me within 3 days and offer me a check to replace the washer. Do you have any idea how much they should offer me and can the bearings on this model be replaced? I am a mechanic by trade and think I can replace the bearings. What parts will I need and do I need any special tools to do this job? Is there a video on how to do this and how can I view it? Please send e-mail to bubbacae1@verizon.net Thank You
1 Answer Hello Charles, You would need to order part number W10772619. This is the rear half of the outer tub and it contains the tub bearings and seal. You will need to inspect the spin basket support shaft WPW10283352 for any wear from the bad bearings. If it is worn, it will need to be replaced to prevent damage to the new bearings and seal. There are no specialty tools involved short of a second man to assist in the removal and reinstallation of the tub assembly to prevent damage to the other components. We have no way to estimate the value of the appliance. Read More...
Tim August 27, 2013 for Model Number MAH5500BWQ Need the bearings/lip seal kit. Been putting this off for some time now. What will happen if left unrepaired? The drum in now much harder to turn by hand. In your opinion is it worth the effort/expense to repair and should it NOT be used? Have I also understood that a special bearing puller or homemade one is not necessary, only the tool included and screwdriver to knock out the bearings? Thanks for answering the numerous questions.
1 Answer Hello Tim. It will damage the inner and outer tub on the unit. As for special tools needed, you will need to have them due to the bearing being pressed in and out on the unit. I think it is best to replace the outer tub assembly and the bearing come alreay installed into the tub assembly. Read More...
