John for Model Number Maytag MAV 6000AWW Agitation is slow with loud squealing noise and smells like the belt. What would cause the belt to fail? All other functions are working but spinning is also slow.
Answer Hello John. First you will want to remove the belt from the motor and make sure the motor moves freely on the slide plate. You will want to replace the belt WP22003483. Also if the motor is able to move freely, remove the cap under the thrust bearing pulley 12002213. If you find a lot of shavings in the cap you will have to replace the kit. Thanks! Read More...
