Chris for Model Number Kenmore 80 series 110.29882891 HI. So, my washer stopped spinning during the spin cycle. It was making a loud buzzing so I assumed problem with the motor or transmission. I took both of the unit and ran the motor by itself...motor spins. After a little research, pinned it on the trans. I replaced the trans. No buzzing now, but still no turning. The new trans came with a new clutch assembly so initially I'm not thinking it's the clutch but it didn't come with a new brake cam driver so maybe that's it but the existing one doesn't look broken either. When I run the new motor and trans together outside of the unit, the drive shaft and the clutch both spin. However, I did note that with just a simple touch of my finger to the clutch, I can stop it (shouldn't the motor be able to handle a much heavier load?) I also can spin the drum manually with the brake cam driver. I'm thinking of getting a new clutch kit to replace the brake cam driver. I would hate to have someone come out when I've already pretty much taken the whole thing apart myself. I would also hate to keep throwing money at parts that I can't return. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
