Greg With Whirlpool Washer for Model Number LSL9244EZO I have taken off the agitator and there is a tan colored grease inside the bottom of the agitator. There is also old, caked, on dark colored grease on the tube and the sloping down part of the tub near the bottom. This has recently been flaking off into the wash and getting on clothes or in tub when empty and wash is finished. I wiped off the grease from the tube that I could, but can't tell where the the grease is coming from. I don't think this grease should be here--which leads me to believe something else needs be fixed. Why would this grease be there and what repairs do I need to make? Cost to have problem diagnosed is $80 fee + $40-80 labor + whatever parts are required to fix this. Thanks for your help.
Answer Hello Greg. That means the transmission is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, March 29, 2016
