Jeff for Model Number LA8800XSWO I can't get the inner tub off of the drive block. I've tried all kinds of rust inhibitors also white vinegar to help if it is calcium build up and it still won't budge. I am trying to get the inner tub off so I can check the drive block and also clean out between the tubs and also I think the tub seal may be leaking and probably needs to be replaced but can not get the inner tub off. Banging on the part where the tub post sits on the drive block is not working to loosen it up. Newer washing machines just don't compare to this one. All the parts already put in can't be returned , hoping to get this off so I can get this repair done and back to washing.
Answer Hello Jeff. Make sure the spinner nut has been removed so the basket will come out of the unit. If not, you will need to remove that nut. If it is removed, you need to jerk upward to remove the tub and make sure the outer tub ring is off the outer tub so the inner will come up and out of the unit. Read More...
