Russell for Model Number JS48SEDBDA Ice had started forming in the freezer. I replaced the drip pan. It lasted a couple of months then started again. There was a leak from the pan that I bought from you as the pipe had a grommet that was not sealed by the pressure fitting. I disconnected the thermister per the instructions. Everything worked well for 1 day and now the frefridgerator temp increased to 80 degrees and the freezer to 27. What happened. Do I need to reconnect the thermister?
Answer Russell, With the temperature in the freezer at 27 and the refrigerator at 80 you will need to check to make sure that the evaporator fan motor is running and check for a defrost failure. Check the evaporator coils being impacted with ice. If there is heavy frost build up then you will want to check the defrost heater and defrost thermostat for continuity. If there is continuity then the defrost control is faulty and if there is not continuity then replace the part that does not have continuity. Read More...
