Tom for Model Number GSW9545JQ0 We experienced a sudden failure -- at the rest period of a wash cycle there was a very loud ongoing staccato bang while the basket continued to spin at high speed. I was able to stop the basket by hand. It turns freely and restarting a spin cycle works fine, and I can again stop the basket by hand (same loud noise). The strange symptom is the accompanying up and down motion of the basket. If I turn it slowly by hand, I can see that the bang is coming from the basket physically dropping at one point in the rotation, so it seems to be on a rise/fall, rise/fall pattern. I estimate the rise/fall to be maybe 1/8 inch or less. Seems like more than just a brake shoe problem?
