Mark for Model Number JGS9900CDS02 Our right front burner wasn't lighting, so I replaced the burner assembly. It lights great now, but it will keep sparking over and over even though it's lit. The two screws that hold the burner are rusted. Do you think they're to blame? The other three burners are fine.
Answer Hello Mark, this model uses a reignition spark module, it is not detecting the burner flame and therefore keeps trying to light the burner, the metal to metal contact areas between the burner base to the cooktop chassis have to clean as there is an electrical loop formed from the spark ignitor thru the flame to the burner base to the chassis and back to the ground screw on the spark module, and yes the rusty screws can block the loop.
