Bart for Model Number Whirlpool Quiet partner 3 Can a check valve in a drain hose go bad? Washer not draining. Tested drain pump with voltmeter and that tested ok. Have run a small drain snake through the drain line on the machine, got several small pieces of glass out of the drain line on the machine. Pulled the whole motor out of the bottom, inspected everything, found no obstruction. Just ran a rinse cycle. The last time I ran a rinse cycle, yesterday, the drain in the disposal ran slowly, I could feel the hot water and the dribble of hot water coming out while the drain pump ran for about 40 seconds. The drain pump then shut off with water still in the bottom of the machine. Today, after pulling the motor and then putting the washer back together, I ran the rinse cycle again. The rinse works, so the circulation pump is working. This time, however, there was no water entering the disposal. I could feel it get warm but no water. I just pulled the washer back out and the drain hose is empty. You can hear the drain pump running for about 40 seconds. The check valve in the bottom of the washer looked normal and flapped up in the space between the grinder and the drain pump.
Answer Bart, If you have had glass in your drain hose then it has gone thru your pump possibly damaging the impeller and and causing the unit not to drain.Either that or a piece of glass will stop up the drain line. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, August 23, 2018
