Michael for Model Number MGR5755QDS Bake switch says 100 degrees, but oven doesn't light to heat the oven. The broil switch seems to work fine, so the oven gas and ignition seem fine. All burners are fine. I've unplugged and plugged the unit back in, hoping for a reset. No such luck. Does this mean I need to replace the whole control panel ($250)? Thanks for your help. Michael
Answer Hi Michael. You may have not noticed b/4 but during preheat the electronic controls will automatically start the unit at 100°. I would use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist. you in your diagnosis. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve 3203459. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter 74007498 and the igniter will need to be replaced. Make sure the wire connections are all fine and tight before replacing the safety valve part # 12002604. Thank You. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Saturday, March 31, 2012
