Stan P for Model Number MSD2652KES Refrigerator runs fine for 4 or 5 days then stops cooling. Compressor hot to the touch. I can leave it unplugged for 10 to 12 hours plug it back in and it will run fine again for 4 or 5 days. I've recently changed the start relay and capacitor, still same problem.
Answer Stan, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty adaptive defrost control board that may be sticking in the defrost cycle. Resetting it will allow the unit to operate again. Also check to make sure that the condenser fan motor is running because if it is not it can cause the compressor to overheat and shut down. Read More...
