Thane for Model Number 10651562102

-A week ago my Ice maker overflowed water into the freezer and onto the floor. I cleaned it up and switched the ice maker off. -When I restarted the Ice maker it made a little ice then quit permanently. -The are no lights on either optical board. I'm considering replacing them both but it seems odd that they would both fail at the same time and right after an overflow event. -I'm a bit concerned about replacing the optical boards and then getting a flood again. What controls the water fill level ? Kenmore model 10651562102 Thanks for the help, T

Answer

Thane, the fill level of the ice maker would be controlled by the ice maker module W10190935 itself. If the ice maker water valve is receiving 120VAC during the overfill failure, the module would be the cause of failure. If water got into one of the optics boards, it can cause the other to fail as well.
