Answer

Hello Philip, water getting into that area will cause problems with the ref's control boards communicating with each other as that deli control is part of the control circuit. If once that area is dried out and reconnected and ref functions work again then likely nothing has been damaged. However, water should not be able to get into that area in the first place. If you look straight up from the deli control you will see the ice maker cube chute that lines up with the left ref door inner ice bin area, there is a gasket sealing the two together when the door is closed. If there is a gap there the ice maker's cold air will leak out and cause a condensation drip that will land on the deli control and work its way under it.
