Ernie for Model Number 596.58642891 Refrigerator was staying cold but freezer was cold but not freezing, condenser is clean,fans are running along with compressor. Temperature started rising in refrigerator,changed t-stat,evaporator is getting cold. With temperature control set on hi or low not much change,seems colder on low than hi refrigerator in 50s,freezer in the 40s. Bad temp control assembly or something else? Door seals are in great shape.
Answer Ernie, With the unit not freezing and the temp starting to rise in the refrigerator you will want to check the evaporator coil to see if there is a good frost pattern. If there is just a little frost on the coils then this issue will be a sealed system issue in which you will need to have a servicer to check the unit. Read More...
