Beatriz My 2010 Whirpool Gold GI5SVAXVL01 refrigerator hasn't given us any problems in 7 years, so I know we are lucky. Today, the front panel began flashing, and as it did, the fan or compressor sounded like it was trying to power up. It finally died, and my husband tried researching the issue which SEEMS to be the control panel, WPW10162500...which we couldn't find anywhere. So, I called a repairmen who can't come til Wednesday, and prepared to put my food items into our 2nd fridge in the garage. Well, lo and behold, 4 after declaring it dead, the fridge is fine. Things do not just fix themselves. How, what, when, where...a poltergeist? How can I order or have the control panel repaired to avoid this happening again, and how can I be sure it is that and not the main panel in the back? I swear to Mozambique I will pull my second fridge, a 30-year-old avocado green monstrosity that is "strong like bear" out and put that sucker in my stainless steel modern kitchen before I give Whirlpool a dime. HELP!
Answer Beatriz, You will want to check the wiring at the top hinge to make sure that there are no loose or damaged connections. This sounds like what would be causing the issue. If there is no damage then this will most likely be an issue with the main control board. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, January 10, 2018
