Jackie for Model Number Whirlpool # GS6SHEXNBOO After a three day power failure the ice maker in our refrigerator/freezer makes ice but does not dispense it into the the different compartments on the door of freezer when pushed. Ice keeps building up in inner compartment. Once the power came back we did a major clean out of both freezer and refrigerator. Did we possibly hit something (a switch or whatever by mistake) while doing the clean out? The ice maker works but the shoot to the various(ice cubes, water, crushed ice) options does not work at all.
Answer Jackie, The dispenser door is mechanical and uses the lever to open up and would not have anything electrically wrong with it. If the motor WP2252130 of your dispenser is not tuning to dispense the ice then most likely the motor is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
