Tara for Model Number MDB7609AWB1 Thank you for your site as I would rather try a repair myself before calling a service rep. My Maytag dishwasher soap dispenser stopped popping open about 2 yrs after purchasing the dishwasher. Until coming across your repair, I filled the dispenser and let the cycle run. What are the chances the connector came loose? My second question is the top screws on both sides of the inside door (at the control panel) will no longer tighten. Do you have a recommendation? And do you sell the replacement screws? I'm concerned the other screws will no longer tighten and will wait for your answer before checking to see if the wire connector came loose on the soap dispenser. Thank you!!
Answer Tara, oftentimes, the dispenser assembly WPW10199696 will receive voltage and the solenoid will not open the door. This can be tested for using a multimeter. In regards to the screw, a loose screw at the top corner indicates the console W10811155 mounting posts have broken down and replacement would be necessary to fix this. Read More...
