By: Whirlpool
Part Number: OEM18052080
Manufacturer Part Number: WPW10224428

The Whirlpool Dispenser Assembly is an OEM component specifically designed for Whirlpool dishwashers. It houses the mechanisms that dispense detergent and rinse aid into the wash basin properly during each cycle.

Causes of a bad dispenser assembly can include clogged or jammed dispenser doors and chutes. Hinges or latches may wear down over years of openings and closings between loads.

Symptoms of a bad dispenser assembly include:

  • Liquid detergent or rinse aid dripping outside the dispenser area
  • Dishes coming out with residue or spots indicating insufficient cleaning
  • The dispenser doors not opening fully or staying shut securely

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Admiral, and select Kenmore models.

Andy for Model Number DU1055XTSS3 Whirlpool dishwasher

two problems with my dishwasher: 1) the lock of the soap dispenser is broken, now can not lock the dispenser after filling detergent. 2) the washing cycle stopped in the middle, and "normal" light starts to blink, constant and fast. the suggested solutions are to replace the dispense assembly (part number AP4429311) and the control panel (part number AP3951372). Now my question is I do not have experience fixing appliances. Do you have step-by-step procedure I could follow to replace the 2 parts? Thanks,

Answer

Andy, We do not have printed information on replacing the control panel and the dispenser but it is relatively easy to do. To access both components you will remove the screws for the inner door and lift the inner door up. For the dispenser there will be 4 screws in the back of the door holding in the dispenser assembly. Remove the screws and disconnect the wiring. For the control panel you will need to remove the components of the control panel and install on the new one.
