Frustrated Handy Housewife for Model Number DU915PWKSO Hi, my whirlpool dishwasher was leaving all sorts of food debris all over it. I bought the screwdriver bit to remove the screws and then found I couldn't remove the wash impeller. I finally figured out to do it using a large socket with locking pliers and a smaller socket and ratchet inserted through the middle. However, the wash impeller broke and left pieces on the shaft when I unscrewed it. Can you tell me please all of the pieces I need to replace at a minimum? the diagram states that you need to replace the pump gasket everytime you disassemble the pump. Which parts are considered the pump? Do I need the pump centering tool? There was a lot of calcium all over the place and I even found broken glass under the filter. How do I clean out the filter itself? Or do I just have to replace it? It is pretty full of junk. Thanks.
Answer Frustrated Handy Housewife, You would want to replace the pump seal kit anytime that you replace the impeller. The centering tool is not required for this unit and you could try to clean the filter by soaking in vinegar otherwise would want to replace it. Read More...
