Notyour Mama for Model Number GU980SCGB2 My whirlpool dishwasher started making grinding noises during the wash, so after research I ordered a chopper/impeller kit to replace the old one. Upon dis-assembly I found bits of glass, a good size chunk of hard white plastic, a piece of wire about one inch long (thicker than a pencil lead), and a glob of sticky gray substance attached to the base of the cabinet along the side of the pump base. There was also a lot of gray debris and some powdery stuff. I thought a good cleaning was in order so I used my carpet spray/vac to clean the whole area. Afterwards, there is water leaking under the washer from the pump. Have I destroyed my pump and if not how do I go about drying it all out? Thanks
Answer Hello Not your mama, Based on the information you will want to pull the pump back apart and check to make sure that the seal is properly seated. If it is not seated properly then it will cause the unit to leak. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, February 19, 2013
