Oscar Is it possible to obtain a correct ohm reading across an oven element and still have a defective (shorted) element? All other oven features are operational until I place the broiler element back into the circuit...then there is a direct short which trips the circuit breaker. VOM across broiler element terminals shows about 16 ohms. I am also getting about 780-810 ohms from element terminal to outside surface of element itself.
Answer Hello Oscar. Yes, the element is actually testing bad, not good, based on the readings you provided. You need to replace the element in the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, November 21, 2012
