Wally December 09, 2013 Broiler element cycles on and off to soon and never seems to get very hot. Is it bad or could it be thermostat?
1 Answer Hello Wally. That is not the element doing that, that would be the thermostat in the unit causing that issue. Read More...
Oscar November 21, 2012 Is it possible to obtain a correct ohm reading across an oven element and still have a defective (shorted) element? All other oven features are operational until I place the broiler element back into the circuit...then there is a direct short which trips the circuit breaker. VOM across broiler element terminals shows about 16 ohms. I am also getting about 780-810 ohms from element terminal to outside surface of element itself.
1 Answer Hello Oscar. Yes, the element is actually testing bad, not good, based on the readings you provided. You need to replace the element in the unit. Read More...
Mary January 23, 2012 for Model Number 92002102 My oven takes a long time to preheat, but works ok after that. I wanted to use the broiler, but it wouldnt get hot, do I need a new broiler element?
1 Answer Hi Mary. Yes it is used during preheat so it will need replaced since it is not heating. It is part # WP8053874. Remove power and then take the back off and remove the terminals. You need to have a volt/ohm meter to make sure the element ohms out between 18-32 ohms and not open. If it is open then replace it. Then you need to set the meter leads in each of the element leads to see if you get the 240 vac to the element. If you do then you have both 120 vac legs from 1- the terminal block and 2- the broil relay. You need to get 120 vac from the broil relay and ground or the white common neutral. If you do not then change the clock control part # WP8523665. Thank You. Read More...
