Orygunguy for Model Number MES5870AAB Your answer was not specific enough as I had removed the leads from the old element and put them to the same leads BUT it did not work...so I removed two leads at a time swapping them around to see if I could get it to work...I am only able to get one circuit to work at a time...they should work together and then just the small element independent of the larger. I not longer have the original placement reference. Maybe the element is defective.
Answer Hello orygunguy. It sounds like the issue may be the switch and not the element. Test the switch and see if there is power to both lead wires. If not, and only one section of the element is working, you will need to order and replace the switch in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
