Martin August 29, 2020 for Model Number MER5770AAQ My back right cooktop burner turns on and cycles for about 3 minutes. Then shuts off and remains off until I turn it off and on again after it has cooled. It seems like it is the infinite switch, what is your recommendation?
1 Answer Martin, it would be recommended that the infinite switch is tested for 240VAC from the terminal H1 to the terminal H2. If there is 240VAC when the element does not cycle back on, the failure would be in the element W10823704. If there is not 240VAC after it stops cycling, the failure would be in the switch WP7403P238-60. Read More...
Henry May 23, 2020 for Model Number MER5770BCW The outer ring of my dual radiant element does not heat up but the inner ring works fine. Should I be replacing the element of the switch? Also, I noticed that the model in the picture is attached to a high indicator light with a blue wire. Is that removable since I don't seem to have it in my existing element?
1 Answer Hello Henry, the dual element uses a separate toggle switch on the control panel for powering the outer element ring in conjunction with an infinite switch, I would check that switch first, unfortunately it is a discontinued part,(74006468). Read More...
Kathy February 29, 2020 for Model Number MER6772BAQ Our range model #MER6772BQ shows replacement dual element burner as W10823709 but the picture shows a blue wire going to a round insulator that we do not have on our stove. I have made sure to use the part checker and it says it is the correct part. What is the blue wire for?
1 Answer Kathy, the blue wire is a jumper wire that runs to the hot surface indicator light directly mounted to the element. Read More...
Corinne April 13, 2019 for Model Number MER6750AAO I need to order the front left burner element for my Dad's stove. I think the part I need is the smallest one, of the three listed, but the description above does not list a size,( ie 6 in or 8 in). Where do I find that information, so I order the right one?
1 Answer Hello Corinne, The part you are needing is dependant on the first two characters of the serial number, (series number). If the serial number begins with 10 or lower you will need to order W10823704. If the serial number begins with 11 or higher you will need to order W10823711. Read More...

Janet June 18, 2017 for Model Number JER8850AAW Jennair Electric Range model JER8850AAW right front 2-sized burner sporadically does not come on. If it fails to start (so far) I can make it start by thumping the glass cooktop above the burner. The burner itself (both sizes) works OK once it starts.
1 Answer Hello Janet. You will need to raise the cooktop and look for a loose connection on the unit or a bad surface element on the unit. Read More...

Mike T February 22, 2017 for Model Number JES9860BAB Jenn air range and oven, the front right 8" burner buzzes. Can't really tell where the sound is coming from. The burner, of course, cycles on and off depending on the setting of the control knob, and it is louder when the burner is on, a bit quieter but still there when the burner cycles off. The burner element seems to be fine.
1 Answer Mike, The most likely cause for this unit would be either a loose wiring connection or the infinite switch WP74011489. Read More...
Allan January 18, 2017 for Model Number MER5870ACW The front right (dual element) burner will turn off after several minutes of use. Both elements work. After the element cools off, it will work again. This does not always happen. Is this a switch or the element that needs replacing? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Allan, This can be caused by a failing limiter in the surface element assembly or a failing infinite switch. The specific part numbers are determined by the serial number since there was a series change in this model. Read More...
