Angie for Model Number WFE715H0ES0 Our oven seems to be overheating, for example: we had Au Gratin potatoes in an oven that displayed as 375* that were boiling. Our laser thermometer read the temperature over 550*. I've replaced the bottom element, however the high temperature continues. What is the next logical step? Is there a diagnostic mode on the stove that can be accessed to find the issue?
Answer Angie, the temperature probe W10833885 can be tested for resistance and it should measure between 1,000O to 1,200O. However, for the most accurate temperature measurements, a temperature probe would allow for the temperature differential to be accounted for. If the temperature measurement with a probe is reaching excessive temperatures, and the oven temperature sensor is reading properly, then the main control WPW10340308 would be the most likely failure.
