Manufacturer Part Number: W11454734

The Washer Gear Case is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. It plays a crucial role in the washer's transmission system, managing the agitation and spin cycles by regulating the drum's movement. This ensures that the washing machine operates effectively, providing thorough cleaning and efficient water extraction.

Common causes of a bad gear case include mechanical wear from extended use, damage from overloading the washer, or internal failures within the gear mechanism. Such issues can disrupt the washer's ability to perform its cycles correctly.

Symptoms of a bad gear case include:

  • The washer failing to agitate or spin
  • Loud grinding or clicking noises during operation
  • The washer leaking oil or grease
  • Incomplete wash or spin cycles

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Answer

Hello Gabriel, thank you for contacting APP, This may be an issue with the Inner Basket W10752719 or the Gearcase W11454734. I would remove the inner basket from the unit and roll it across smooth, solid flooring to see if it wobbles as it rolls to determine if the tub may be out of round. If the tub has gone out of round it will need to be replaced. Also, inspect the Tub Ring W10849477 for any damage and replace it if necessary. If the tub ring and inner tub/basket appear to be in good condition I would suspect an issue with the gearcase.
