Chanda Hi thank you for your response to my question earlier. Now I have another situation. I clicked out the filter one more time then put it in again. The refrigerator filter area make the cranking noise then stopped. Now the water is flowing fine out of the water dispenser with the filter in it. It has been working no problem for 4 or 5 days. Does that mean the filter is working? Would water be able to bypass the filter if it is installed and still come out of the water dispenser? Thank you for your help with this. We are looking to get a new filter housing as suggested. I just am wanting to know how water is now coming out.
Answer Chanda, There are tabs or "fingers" inside the head assembly. If the filter is inserted incorrectly, if the fingers are bent or damaged the filter head mechanism will make noise. You may have activated the fingers when you re installed the filter. But, they will eventually fail again. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, June 18, 2018
