Chris for Model Number WED9250WL0 I have a whirlpool duet dryer , do I have to remove both the top and the back of the dryer to get the heating element out . I have removed the lower front panel but I can not get the element out. Thank you ,Chris
Answer Chris, No, you do not need to remove the top or back panel to access the heater assembly. Once you remove power to the dryer, and the lower access panel Remove the hex-head screw from the heater shield and remove the shield. To remove the heater: a) Remove the two wires from the terminal block. b) Remove the hex-head screw from the heater housing, and slide the heater out of the duct. To remove the high-limit thermostat or the thermal cutoff: a) Disconnect the wires from the high limit thermostat or the thermal cutoff. b) Remove the two hex-head screws. Reverse the procedure to install the replacement part. Remember to mark or label the wires as you remove them from the terminals, or take a photo so you can reinstall the wires properly. Read More...
