The Dryer Heating Element is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. It is responsible for generating the heat necessary for the drying process, ensuring clothes and fabrics are thoroughly dried.

J, You don't remove the box. Once you've removed power to the dryer and removed the lower access panel, You'll need to disconnect the wires to the heater element terminal block. Remove the 1/4" hex head screw holding the bracket / shield to the base of the dryer and the 1/4" hex head screw holding the heater box bottom panel to the bracket, and remove the bracket/shield assembly. Remove the 1/4" hex-head screw from the side of the heater housing (located between the element terminal block and the hi limit thermostat), and slide the heater out of the duct. Reverse the procedure to install the new heater assembly. Be careful when working in this area, the metal components have sharp edges.
