Lestouffer Have a Whirlpool dishwasher which seemed to have a bad heating element. In fact it snapped in half at a blister looking thing when we replaced it. But the replacement isn't getting hot at all. And after watching 10's of videos on this, we are 99.99% sure we did it right. What are the chances of it being a bad element? Is there somewhere else we should be looking for? Does the orientation of the plugs on the bottom of the element make any difference? Or just as long as they are fully seated?
Answer Hello Lestouffer. Chances are either the thermostat is bad or the control board has failed. It is very unlikely the new heater is bad. It should read closed for continuity if the heater is good. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
