Curt for Model Number WDF520PADM5 Hi, a friend just gave me this 2 y/o dishwasher that washes and rinses but does not heat water, nor air dry. The heat element looks bad and measures 18 mega ohms so it needs replacing. The high limit thermostat checks good (and opens at about 200F). There is no visible damage other than the element. Is there any way to make sure the control is good before I purchase a heat element, because if the control is bad I'll scrap it all. The tech manual says the control will disable the heat circuit if any problem is found in that circuit. Also, the tech manual says the heat element is 805 watts wet and 385 watts dry. How can the wattage have 2 levels wet to dry when the manual simply shows the element is turned off and on to 120 volts by 2 electro-mechanical relays? Thank you.
Answer Curt, If you put the unit into a high temp wash you can test to see if there is 120 vac going to the heater. If there is 120 vac then just the heater would need replaced. If there is not power then the issue will be a faulty board. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, December 8, 2017
