Hello Lisa, The heating element is not the only component in most design dishwashers that can cause no heat. There is normally a high limit thermostat that can go open, a wiring harness that can have an issue, a door switch that can fail, and of course, the control board/timer. For a more detailed diagnosis, please post a new question including the model number from your units' I.D. tag.
