Holli for Model Number ED5KVEXVQ00 My ice maker fills with water and freezes the ice, but it does not dump without manually moving the arm. If I bump the arm down it will then cycle. With a jump wire we diagnosed that the thermostat is bad. Is it best to just replace the thermostat, or replace the entire ice maker? What, specifically, will I need to order? How difficult is this? Thanks!
Answer Holli, The thermostat part number is WP627985 You will need to dismantle the icemaker to replace it. It could be "tricky" and you'd have to be pretty careful. The icemaker is WPW10190965 and is quite a bit easier to replace, loosen a couple of mounting screws and remove the bottom support screw, and transfer the arm to the new icemaker. I would reccomend replace the icemaker, just for the ease of the repair, and longevity. Good Luck and Thanks Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Saturday, January 14, 2012
