Thomas for Model Number 10651779511 using icemaker W10873791 Icemaker is not filling with water and not making ice. I hotwired the water valve and the valve filled the icemaker with water. Switch is good. Installed new icemaker and still no ice. Temp in freezer is 3 degrees. Do you think is a bad control board?
Answer Thomas, it would be recommended that the ice bucket switch W11123943 (manufacturer has discontinued this item) and the icemaker on/off switch W10918003 are inspected and tested for proper operation while the door switch is taped in the closed position. The bucket switch should have 120VAC at each terminal when tested to ground while the switch is pressed in (it is easiest to use tape to hold the switch in place). The on/off switch should have 120VAC at each terminal when tested to ground while in the on position. If neither have 120VAC going to them, the switches would need to be tested for continuity (bucket switch should have continuity when pressed in and the on/off switch should have continuity when in the on position). The wiring at the hinge would need to be inspected for any breaks or damaged wires and repaired as necessary. If all of this tests properly and there is not a damaged wire, then the main control WPW10743957 would be the cause of failure. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, May 8, 2020
