Janell for Model Number MDG4000BWW If the first 2 digits in the serial number of the dryer is between 10 and 59 then you would use igniter part number 4391996. If the first 2 digits are 60 and higher then use igniter part number 33002789. The serial # for my dryer is 28790423YB. We replaced the igniter with one that looks like the one you are suggesting and it only lasted 1 week. Prior to that the one we pulled from our dryer looks more like the one for the 60 series...any thoughts as to why that would happen?
Answer Hello Janell. You may have bumped the igniter and weakened it when installing it. All igniters use 120 volts and should not burn up in 1 week unless it never cuts off or it is damaged. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, May 2, 2013
